Dara O Briain is an Irish comedian and television presenter.
He is noted for hosting topical panel shows such as Mock the Week, The Panel, and The Apprentice: You’re Fired!.
Dara O Briain has earned a reputation as one of the finest comedians of the times. He is an assured performer and host of Mock the Week.
In cabaret, Dara draws audiences into his confidence and never lets the laughter fade. His relaxed but quick-fire delivery draws on surreal aspects of everyday life, commonplace situations and the headlines of the day.
The previous host of The Apprentice: You’re Fired! and a regular on QI, Dara O Briain has also starred with Rory McGrath and Griff Rhys Jones in a tribute to Jerome K Jerome’s Three Men in a Boat, and various ‘Three Men’ sequels.
Dara also is also a lover of Science. In 2011 he presented Stargazing Live on BBC Two with Brian Cox. The two presenters hosted a second series of three-hour-long programmes, plus follow-up 30-minute shows called Stargazing Live: Back to Earth, in 2012 and a third series in 2013, again accompanied by Back to Earth. He also hosts Dara O Briain’s Science Club and hosted the Dave series School of Hard Sums. In 2015 a series of interviews with theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking, aired on BBC One.
Dara is also both producer and host of the popular Irish satirical show, The Panel. Latterly he has turned his hand to writing, with a sports column in the Guardian newspaper, and his first book, Tickling The English.
